The John Birch Society Bulletin List Items

The JBS Bulletin is a monthly newsletter which lays out the national agenda for its membership. The first correspondence between Mr. Welch and his young organization, as far as I can tell, was a confidential memorandum issued just 11 days after the formation of the John Birch Society dated Decemer 19, 1958. There were 10 more brief missives sent during 1959 as chapters began to form. In 1960, a formal bulletin went out each month. This continued uninterupted until June of 1986. The July bulletin for 1986 (No. 327) includes a "Personal Message to Our Members" which details the situation. It begins ...

The Bulletin of The John Birch Society has been published continuously since January 1959. Last month - for the first time in over 27 years - a monthly Bulletin was not mailed to our members. This was a drastic step to take - a step that was both necessary in view of our financial condition and desirable as a means of emphasizing the urgency of our need.

The membership answered the call at the John Birch Society's darkest hour and as result, bulletins continue to guide the membership ever since. Bulletin No. 757 has reached my mailbox in June of 2022 and by year's end there will be 763 bulletins in this collection. The format and design of the bulletin has changed several times in its nearly 65 year history. Click "list items" to see them...
